“A la orilla del río Xúquer” is a project seeking to recover the oral and graphic memory of everyday life along the banks of the river. The socio-historical context we have worked on in the biographical interviews range from the end of the Spanish Civil War to the tragedy of the flooding of Tous in 1982. The content has been divided into two main aspects: on the one hand the human landscape (work and customs related to the river) and on the other, the natural landscape (exploitation and transformation of the area). With support from the photographs we have compiled (domestic and local archive), we have managed to recover and/or reconstruct both landscapes.
