Research at L’ETNO is striving to look beyond the surface. It is an attempt to recover rarity; it is delving into the understanding of relationships. Research at L’ETNO is about having the will to discover and transmit the ways a people builds its knowledge.
And we do this in many ways, but always listening to the tangible and intangible things. By consolidating research protocols rooted in Valencian territory, with or without comparisons between times and/or cultures. Researching at L’ETNO is about linking the processes of change with the permanence of the phenomena that affect us.
Looking from the past is not about nostalgic longing, but rather, as Han (2020) would say, it is about understanding past times as a “background of contrast” from where we can draw the thresholds of our cultural and social present.
