Through a continuum of experiences, we have managed to build a narrative showing an approximate migration biography from the Region of Valencia between the period from 1950 to 1970. Starting with the grape harvest in France and ending up on the payroll of a steel company in Düsseldorf, this piece of research covers the different routes of modest migration: most of the time toing and froing with short, seasonal or annual stays, but without too many papers or uncertainties. When migration chains were commonplace and the family and neighbour relationships protected the subjects of these processes from occasional adversities. Migration that often took place without papers and where the concept of prospering was more often than not the main motivation.
