Clothing and other textiles

The museum's costume collection, made up of more than 10,000 pieces, includes items recovered in the 1980s; important additions from the Casa Insa-Carmen Ferrés collection and the Puig-Vilaplana collection; and atruistic donations from private individuals. We have pieces of the trousseau that women prepared with great care before getting married, everyday clothes worn by men and women, formal clothes, festive attire and costumes that refer to rites of passage. The collection also contains costumes created or converted for theatrical performances and children's clothes that were inherited. There is also a wide range of other textiles used to upholster furniture.
