Programme included in the activities of L'ETNO's Health and Wellbeing initiative, based on guided visits aimed at people identified in the primary care consultations of the health centres who present unwanted loneliness and/or physical inactivity
The medical prescription of assets for health or social prescription is the community health model where people are referred to a range of non-clinical resources, established by the community as generators of health and well-being, including museums.
The Receta Cultura programme is a pilot programme in the restructuring phase, organised by the Directorate General for Public Health and Addictions of the Regional Ministry of Universal Health and Public Health and Las Naves. Centro de Innovación del Ayuntamiento de València together with six museums in the city, including L'ETNO, with several objectives: to reduce unwanted loneliness and social isolation, to increase physical activity, and to mprove emotional well-being.
This prescription is prescribed in several health centres in the city to improve the lives of patients through cultural visits to people with unwanted loneliness and/or physical inactivity to participate in twelve guided visits, over two quarters, in the participating museums.
Nursing, social work and medical staff from primary care health centres are responsible for coordinating this reorientation of health services towards the community, promoting the range of non-clinical resources that generate health and wellbeing, such as museums and cultural centres.
The visits are group visits, precisely to foster new relationships. They last fifty minutes and are guided by specialists in museum didactics to encourage participation, social interaction, curiosity for learning, as well as to generate positive mood stimuli.
