Vicente Tortajada was a Valencian scriptwriter and photographer who worked between 1964 and 1984 on creating a large archive with the idea of providing professional services to publishers and advertising agencies. His images inevitably show his personal interest in portraying everything that was hidden in society at the time. The photographs combine iconic representation of the monuments, buildings, cities and villages all over Spain, with portraits and scenes showing traditional activities and people away from urban life. His detailed reports on traditional, rural life in other countries such as Romania, Portugal and Morocco are particularly noteworthy. His project ended prematurely in 1984 with his early death. The collection consists of over 7000 medium format slides of excellent quality.
