Work by José Soler Carnicer. He was an iconic pioneer in disseminating walks around Valencian territory. The collection contains images that were produced during his documentation, research and publication work for the articles “Rutas Valencianas” in the newspaper “Las Provincias” between 1954 and 1975. They feature pictures of walks, emblematic sites, natural landscapes, villages, popular culture and traditional activities. There are also documents about the city of Valencia and the Ruzafa district between 1960 and 1970. José Soler Carnicer will always be a key figure because of his dedication to disseminating the natural and cultural heritage of Valencia, with over 50 published works. Valencia City Hall named a street after him in the Nazaret District in 2013 as public homage. His name is indelibly linked to the history of walking, customs, traditions and the development of local tourism in Valencian territory.
