Tresors amb història
A doll, a scooter, a bunch of Easter palms, a sickle and a socket, a bicycle, a cot that grandfather made while he was in prison in the post-war period, a suitcase full of documents, letters and photographs of someone who lived through the horrors of the wars of the 20th century. These and many other objects up to a hundred are the real treasures that the programme Tresors amb història, on À Punt, the Valencian public television, has given us the opportunity to get to know. The proposal to put on the table the value that certain things, certain objects, represent for certain people and their families, and at the same time to seek a connection with the historical and cultural context of the Valencian people, could not be more attractive, more generous. The television project has the virtue of successfully bringing together two worlds that often run parallel without much connection: the everyday life of people, their chores and personal histories, with the interests and knowledge of sciences such as history, ethnology or sociology. The excuse, the nexus, to establish these bridges has been things, objects. Once the recording hours were over and the programme had been successfully broadcast, it was time to present the Tresors amb història exhibition. That is why L'ETNO has produced an exhibition in collaboration with the Institut Valencià de Cultura to show the public the hundred selected treasures. This exhibition has also travelled to the Museum of Fine Arts of Castelló in summer 2022.
