Exhibition related to the TV show "Tresors amb història".

This is the exhibition production linked to the TV show “Tresors amb Història”, broacasted by the Valencian Public Television, À Punt. The exhibition shows the selection of the one hundred objects that have been appearing during the broadcast of the program. The objects tell daily stories of Valencian men and women and are a sample of our history in the last century. With this project, L'ETNO proposes to reflect into the importance of material culture as a container of memory and an element capable of reflecting personal or collective identity.

TRESORS AMB HISTÒRIA has been produced by L'ETNO in collaboration with the Institut Valencià de Cultura, À Punt and the production companies Sunrise and El Terrat (The Mediapro Studio). It will remain open to the public until the 29th of May, and from June 15 it can be visited at the Museum of Fine Arts in the city of Castelló.
 

CUENTOS DE ENCANTAMIENTO 

Los cuentos nos permiten construir visiones compartidas de la realidad, consolidar o cuestionar creencias, y dotar de sentido a la vida. Con ellos la sociedad se representa, se cuenta y da cuenta de sí misma. 

Este año el festival aborda los cuentos maravillosos, que en España denominamos “de encantamiento” y que en el último tercio del siglo pasado cobraron una inusitada relevancia en diferentes estudios (folclóricos, antropológicos, lingüísticos o semiológicos). 

Estos cuentos están definidos y catalogados por Vladimir Propp en su clásico libro La morfología del cuento como relatos con una estructura fija. Hoy son considerados como los antecesores de los cuentos de hadas, que a su vez son adaptaciones tardías e ideológicas de aquellos cuentos con los que la humanidad echó a andar. 

En esta edición reflexionaremos sobre ellos de la mano de Antonio R. Almodóvar autor de Cuentos al amor de la lumbre (1983-84), una obra básica en el análisis de los cuentos españoles. Además gozaremos con las historias de carácter maravilloso contadas maravillosamente por tres cuentistas: Raquel López, Valenti Piñot y Patricia Picazo.

19.30 h. «Códigos ocultos del cuento maravilloso de tradición oral»
Charla-coloquio con Antonio R. Almodóvar, investigador, miembro de la Real Academia Española, Premio Nacional de Literatura infantil y juvenil y autor -entre otros- de Cuentos al amor de la lumbre, Cuentos maravillosos españoles, El bosque de los sueños y Cuentos de la media lunita.

21.00 h. Cena de sobaquillo
Las personas participantes deberán traer la cena y la organización proporcionará la picadeta y la bebida. 

22.00 horas. «Palabrasas» 
Contadas simultáneas en tres hogueras.

23.30 h. Despedida
Celebración conjunta con bailes y cantos.

Did you know that the city where we usually walk can keep secrets hidden by time? The meeting of a grandmother and a little girl allows us to enter a hidden and almost secret city where we can have fun, play and make new friends.

The gegants and nans are characters of great tradition in the celebration of Corpus Christi, not only in Valencia, but also in other cities and towns where this festival is celebrated, since the fifteenth century. They are, moreover, Intangible Heritage of Humanity since 2005. We will carry out a workshop where families will create figures such as gegants of wood and cloth with their own portrait, with special interest in creating the clothing of these characters.

They say that a long time ago, in Zambia, there was a boy who thought he was very clever and that's why he called himself Landa the Clever... Do you want to know his story? It is a traditional story of the Lovale people about the picaresque and human relationships. With natural materials such as a wooden spoon, branches, cork and seeds, we will build and decorate a figure inspired by the African continent.

Fent Primavera is a place to remember our environment, to love it and take care of it. And what better way to convey this message than painting it with our hands, because in each of its corners there is a little bit of hidden nature. Do you dare to look for your spring? In addition, we will be able to take home a backpack for our outings in nature.

The poster condenses with a few elements the whole Fallas festival, although there are almost always elements that are repeated, if we look at the historical posters since 1929: masclets, dolls, falleras and, above all, a lot of red color and a lot of fire. With paint, collage, pieces of paper and a lot of imagination, we will create our own Fallas poster, to highlight the work of artists and graphic designers.

In this workshop the children will have to do a scavenger hunt through the rooms of the museum looking for a series of objects and writing their name. Then, with the negative of one of the objects they have found, they will make a cyanotype, which is one of the first photographic techniques. We will also talk about the first photography book, made by Anna Atkins with this technique.

We start the new season with renewed educational workshops for the whole family. Aimed at children from 4 years old accompanied by an adult, workshops are held on Sundays at 12:30 pm. 

Tickets will be distributed from the Thursday before each workshop. Participants will be pick up  in the museum lobby at 12:30 pm. 

Workshops are offered  in both Spanish and Valencian.
